Gipton and Harehills Neighbourhood Policing Team in partnership with Leeds City Council Anti-Social Behaviour, Environmental and Parking Services teams deployed across Harehills to engage directly with local communities, while conducting targeted enforcement activity across the area. Police and partners spent the day speaking with residents, businesses and community members, encouraging them to complete surveys designed to identify local priorities and issues affecting local residents and businesses. Following on from the day of action, PC Dorset and Rawson conducted joint patrols with Leeds City Council Environmental Teams on the 8th October 2026, which resulted in a further two vehicles being seized for fly-tipping offences. While police and partners from the Licensing Teams secured two four-week closure orders, for two business premises on Harehills Road. Sergeant Ian Campbell, lead for CommUnity Harehills said: "The day of action was about listening to our communities and taking enforcement action, following previous community concerns raised and in line with PSPO in place. "By speaking directly with residents and encouraging them to complete surveys, we are gaining a clearer understanding of the issues that matter most to local people. "The day of action achieved positive results, from tackling fly-tipping and parking concerns to addressing environmental issues and safeguarding vulnerable residents. We remain committed to working with our partners and communities to ensure our neighbourhoods remain clean, safe and welcoming places to live, work and visit. “Residents are encouraged to continue reporting issues affecting their communities and to participate in future consultation opportunities, to help shape local priorities and enforcement activity.”
