Attempted Burglary Near You - The Gables, Baildon BD17

Dear Resident

You are receiving this message because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on The Gables, Baildon, this occurred at around 4am on 31/03/2026.  Two unidentified suspects entered the rear garden of the property and attempted to snap the lock on the patio doors using mole grips or similar. They failed to gain entry to the house and made off into the garden of a neighbouring property. 

The attacked property is located near the far end of the cul-de-sac.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (please add times if known) to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
