Theft of Stone

There has been an increase in the theft of stone across the District. 


At Church Lane Moldgreen suspects have stolen 11 x Yorkshire Stone paving slabs from the complainants garden.  This has occurred between 2200 hrs on the 3rd August and 0800 hrs on the 4th.


3 x flagstones have been removed from outside a property at Senior Street, Moldgreen between midnight on the 4th August and 0600 hrs the same day.


At Orchard Terrace Huddersfield suspects have removed stone flags from the rear garden path of the property.


At Common Road at Staincliffe offenders have removed stone on the 3rd August at 2215 hrs, a number of paving stones,  the offenders have used a white Ford Transit Van with a heightened roof and transfers of cars on the lower nearside panels, loading the stone through the side sliding doors.

6 x stone flags were taken from Church Lane at Mirfield, these from St Mary The Virgin Church pre- school between the 1st August at 2100 hrs and the 2nd August at 0800 hrs.


On the 2nd August between 1600 and 1630 hrs offenders, believed using a white Ford Transit Van have taken Yorkshire stone wall toppers.


Please report any suspicious activity to the Police.   If you have any information regarding these crimes either report to the Police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
