Due to these suspicions, the two males inside were searched under Section 23. Following the search of the males both were arrested and brought into custody at Stainbeck Police Station. Once at the station and processed both were charged with:
• Possess knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place, • Possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class C • Possess a controlled drug of Class B - Cannabis / Cannabis Resin
Both will appear in court shortly and once the case has concluded we will provide an update.
North East Leeds NPT Acting Inspector Adam Harper said: “I’m extremely proud of the team’s dedication and the proactive steps taken to bring these individuals into custody. This outcome reflects our commitment to tackling crime head-on and protecting the people we serve. We are committed to reducing knife crime and drug dealing across North East Leeds. Every weapon we remove from the street is one less that could be used to cause serious harm. Every drug deal we intercept leads to less distribution across the city. Our ultimate goal remains clear: to ensure every community is a safe and secure place to live”.
