Bradford City Football Match

Bradford Police Officers are swapping their batons for football boots later this month to take part in a charity football match.

As part of Bradford’s year of being the City of Culture, Bradford District Police wanted to showcase the talents on offer through sport.

Bradford District Police team will have a range of officers from patrol to CID.

Bradford City Veterans Football Team is made up of former players from Bradford City, ex apprentices and other club ex pros.

The team will be managed by Terry Dolan, with players including Lee Duxbury, Dean Windass, and Graeme Tomlinson.

The match will be played at Bradford Park Avenue on Sunday 17 August, kick off is 3pm.

Tickets will cost £5 for adults and £3 for children, money raised will go to the Police Treatment Centre in Harrogate.

Inspector Najma Akram of Bradford District Police has organised the event she said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the extracurricular talents our police and staff have!

“It should be a great family day out. We hope the local community will come out and support us for this great cause.”
