Drugs arrest - Portobello


Dear Resident

 

Yesterday, 8th April, PCs Gleeson & Smith from Wakefield Central NPT East were on proactive patrols in the Portobello area, when acting upon intelligence they located a youth on the estate who was subjected to a stop and search under the misuse of drugs act.

The young male was found to be in possession of cannabis which is a class B drug. Suspecting the male had drugs secreted on his body, the young male was arrested and taken into custody where a package was found secreted within his clothing. The package contained a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine and heroin. 

 

The male was arrested on suspicion of:
Concerned in the supply of class A drug
Possess a controlled drug of class B- Cannabis
Possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A - Heroin
Possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A - Crack Cocaine.

 

A full investigation is now ongoing.
