We’ve seen a recent spate of crimes around the theft of number plates. Criminals take these to fit onto their car or a stolen vehicle to then commit further crimes. 

Vehicle registration plates are relatively easy to remove, but there are some measures that can be put into place to try help protect yourself from becoming a victim to this offence.

Parking in a well-lit area that is covered by CCTV surveillance, this deters offenders as well as making it easier to spot potential offenders.

Use temper proof screws. Your vehicle’s registration plate will most likely be fitted on with standard screws. Switching these to tamper proof screws removes the offenders means of being able to remove the plate.
