There has been an increase in number plate theft especially in the South East of our district which covers South Elmsall, Wentbridge and Hemsworth.

Once stolen these plates can be used in a number of ways including:

Cloned plates on stolen vehicles

Make off without payment from petrol stations

Avoiding parking tickets

Avoiding speeding camera fines

Drug dealing

You can protect your car number plates against unauthorised removal by replacing the existing screws that hold your number plate in position.
