You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of Birkenshaw in Bradford, in the last couple of weeks we have been made aware by Trading Standards of a number of males pressurising mainly elderly residents to get their driveways steam cleaned. The business in this report goes by the name of 'Trust Wise' Steam Cleaning and uses a black van for transport. One resident has been pressured into parting with £400 for a drive cleaning that they never asked for. In another similar incident in the Huddersfield area the males have started work even though the resident said no but pressured the resident to complete.
What should i do Apply caution if a trader turns up unannounced offering a service. If they are pushy or persistent, stop, ‘Take 5’ and think about the offer. It is always recommended to obtain a few quotes from traders to compare prices. Do some research on the business wherever possible and obtain a written quote. Ask about guarantee’s, time frames and what is included in the price.
Be cautious with any trader who asks for payment in full upfront or does not offer any written paperwork. If in doubt do not engage. Report to Trading Standards or to the Police. Thanks | ||||
