We get lots of reports from members of the public about fly tipping and these are usually forwarded to Wakefield District Council who will make enquiries with a view to prosecuting anyone found responsible for commiting this type of offence. 

Yesterday, a male from the Crigglestone area was convicted at Leeds Magistrates Court of fly tipping in Bretton in September 2023 and Midgley in February 2024.

The male was fined £230 for each offence plus liable for contribution towards costs incurred by council for the investigation and clean up.

The prosecution was brought by Wakefield Council following a joint investigation by WMDC, Wakefield District Off-road Bike Team and the WYP Digital Media Investigators.
