Vehicle Recovered For Causing An Obstruction In Wetherby, Leeds

On Thursday evening, 12th September 2024, a van was parked on Castle Gate, Wetherby on the bus station exit route restricting buses movement when departing the station.

Due to the obstruction one bus struggled to exit which resulted in damage to a wall, due to the drivers attempt to avoid a collision with the vehicle, resulting in the service having to be abandoned.

The vehicle was parked on double yellow lines and whilst the police themselves do not enforce these, if the vehicle is causing an obstruction they do have the power to remove the vehicle and ticket the driver.

Local Neighbourhood Police who were at the location just after the event deemed the vehicle to be causing an obstruction, action was taken to address the matter and the vehicle was recovered. The cost of the release of the vehicle, landing on the owner/driver of the vehicle itself.

Please consider where you park your vehicle, as it could end up being very costly if your vehicle is recovered.
